On arrival at Bagdogra airport, meet your driver and proceed to Darjeeling, a picturesque hill station known for its stunning views and colonial charm. Check in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free to relax and acclimate to the cool mountain air. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning pick-up around 3:45 AM to drive through scenic oak forests to Tiger Hill, located at 8,000 feet, for a panoramic sunrise view over the snow-capped Kanchenjunga Peak, the third-highest mountain in the world (weather permitting). On the way back, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and Batasia Loop, a unique spiral railway track offering spectacular views. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Post-breakfast, embark on a city tour starting with Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, home to rare animals like the snow leopard. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), which celebrates mountaineering achievements. Take a scenic Ropeway ride for aerial views of the mountains and valleys. Explore Tensing Gumpo Rock and the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sundays), which showcases Tibetan crafts. Tour a Tea Estate to learn about tea production and sample fresh Darjeeling tea. Visit the Natural History Museum (closed on Sundays) and the serene Peace Pagoda. Experience a Toy Train Joyride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Rail track (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) from Darjeeling to Ghum and back via Batasia Loop, covering 14kms in a 2-hour round trip. Evening free to explore the vibrant local market with its bustling shops and eateries. Overnight at the hotel.
