Its central hall is one of the largest arched constructions without support beams, showcasing intricate Mughal architecture. Explore the British Residency Complex, a historical site with several buildings including the Residency, which was a key location during the 1857 uprising. The complex also features the Shaheed Smarak, commemorating martyrs, and the Tehri Kothi, a historic building. Admire the Rumi Darwaza, a 60-foot tall gateway built in 1784, designed in the Awadhi architectural style and modeled after the Sublime Porte in Istanbul. It was originally an entrance to Old Lucknow City. Visit the Chota Imambara, built in 1838 by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah, known for its ornate interiors and impressive chandeliers. The complex includes the tomb of the Nawab and his family. Discover the Dilkusha Kothi, an English-style mansion built by Nawab Sadruddin Ali, which was damaged during the 1857 revolt but remains a notable example of colonial architecture.
