Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (Alt: 1350 m)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, meet our office representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Settle into your accommodation and rest to recover from your journey. Overnight at the hotel. Meal plan: Dinner

Day 2: Kathmandu (Alt: 1350 m)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, a significant Hindu pilgrimage site located on the banks of the Bagmati River. This ancient temple complex is renowned for its richly decorated pagoda-style architecture and the spiritual atmosphere created by the cremation ceremonies conducted here. Explore Budhanilkantha, where you'll find a massive, tranquil statue of Vishnu reclining in a pond. This statue, carved from a single stone, is an important religious site and offers a peaceful setting for reflection. In the evening, attend a tour briefing at the hotel to discuss the upcoming journey and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight at the hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Kathmandu – Syaphrubeshi (150kms, Alt: 1450 m)

After breakfast, embark on a drive to Syaphrubeshi, a small town near the Nepal-China border. The scenic drive offers glimpses of the rural Nepali landscape and traditional village life. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Overnight at the hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4: Drive Syaprubeshi – Kerung (45kms, Alt: 4130 m)

Breakfast at the hotel before driving to the China border at the Friendship Bridge. Complete necessary customs formalities and proceed to Kerung, a Tibetan town where you'll stay for the night. The drive provides stunning views of the Tibetan plateau and the rugged landscape. Overnight at a guest house in Kerung. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5: Kerung – Saga (375kms, Alt: 4500 m)

Enjoy breakfast at the guest house. Travel from Kerung to Saga, traversing the remote and dramatic Tibetan terrain. This journey takes you through high-altitude regions and offers a glimpse into the vast, untouched landscapes of Tibet. Overnight at a guest house in Saga. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 6: At Saga, for acclimatization

Spend the day in Saga to acclimate to the high altitude. Rest and take it easy to prepare your body for the higher elevations you will encounter in the coming days. This day is crucial for adjusting to the lower oxygen levels. Overnight at a guest house in Saga. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 7: Saga - Mansarovar (350kms, Alt: 4540 m)

Travel from Saga to Mansarovar, passing through Prayang and the Mayum La Pass (5200 m). Arrive at Hor Quo, where you’ll catch your first sight of the sacred Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. After a drive around Lake Mansarovar (parikarma), settle in at Chu Gompa. This is a momentous day, marking the beginning of your spiritual journey at these holy sites. Overnight at a guest house in Mansarovar. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 8: Drive Lake Mansarovar to Darchen, Base Camp of Kailash (350kms, Alt: 4620 m)

Start the day with a Pooja and a holy bath at Lake Mansarovar, an important ritual for purification. After lunch, drive to Darchen, the base camp for Mt. Kailash. The drive takes about an hour and a half, where you’ll make final preparations for the Parikrama. Overnight at a guest house in Darchen. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 9: 1st Day of Parikrama to Diraphuk (16kms Walk / 4kms drive, Alt: 4860 m)

Drive to Yama Dwar, where yaks and yak men will help carry supplies for the trek. Begin the Parikrama with a 5-hour walk, offering views of the West face of Mt. Kailash. Reach Dirapuk for the night, where you can enjoy a distant view of the North face of Kailash. Overnight at a guest house in Dirapuk. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 10: 2nd Day of Parikrama to Zuthulphuk (22kms Walk / Alt: 5850 m)

Early morning, trek uphill to Dolmala Pass (5850 m), the highest and most challenging part of the Parikrama. The trek takes about 4 to 5 hours. After reaching the pass, descend to the valley floor, passing Gauri Kunda, a sacred lake. This day is the most strenuous, requiring mental and physical preparation. Overnight in a tented camp at Zuthulphuk. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 11: 3rd Day of Parikrama. Drive to Saga (10kms Walk / 280kms drive, Alt: 4500 m)

Complete the final leg of the Parikrama with a 10 km trek to Chongdo, where transport will meet you. Drive back to Dongba, reflecting on the spiritual journey and the breathtaking landscapes experienced over the past days. Overnight at a guest house in Dongba. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 12: Drive Saga - Kerung (350kms, Alt: 3770 m)

Drive from Dongba back to Kerung, enjoying the scenic Tibetan landscape along the way. This return journey allows you to revisit the serene beauty of the Tibetan plateau as you head back towards the border. Overnight at a guest house in Kerung. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 13: Kerung - Kathmandu (160kms, Alt: 1350 m)

Drive from Kerung to the Friendship Bridge at Rasuwa Gadhi. Complete customs formalities and then proceed to Kathmandu, where you will spend the night. Reflect on the memorable experiences and prepare for your departure. Overnight at the hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to your onward destination. Meal plan: Breakfast.
