Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, originally built in 1503. It is renowned for its historical significance, as Vasco da Gama was buried here before his remains were moved to Lisbon. Discover the Jewish Synagogue in the Jew Town area, a significant place of worship with a beautifully decorated interior and ancient Hebrew inscriptions. Adjacent is the Mattancherry Dutch Palace, also known as the Pallippuram Palace, which features ornate murals and artifacts from the era of Portuguese and Dutch rule. These nets are operated manually and represent a traditional method of fishing unique to this region.
