Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Guwahati

Assistance on arrival at Guwahati airport and transfer to the hotel (check-in/out time 12 pm). Visit Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas, known for its tantric worship and sacred rituals. The temple is perched on the Nilachal Hill, offering spiritual solace and panoramic views. Explore Navagraha Temple, dedicated to the nine celestial bodies. This ancient temple, located atop Chitrasal Hill, is an important site for astrological worship and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Take a ferry to Umananda Island, the smallest inhabited river island in the world, situated in the Brahmaputra River. Visit Umananda Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is believed to have been built by the Ahom King Gadadhar Singha in the 17th century. After the tour, drive to Kaziranga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its dense population of one-horned rhinoceroses. Check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Guwahati - Kaziranga NP (200km)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park. This drive takes you through picturesque countryside and tea gardens, offering a glimpse of Assam's rural beauty. Upon arrival at Kaziranga, check in at the hotel, and unwind. Day 4: Kaziranga - Nameri National Park (100km)

Upon arrival, check in at the resort and prepare for an afternoon safari. Day 5: Nameri National Park

During the safari, explore the dense forests, riverine habitats, and open grasslands that support a wide range of species. The park is known for its tiger population, but you may also encounter elephants, leopards, and a variety of bird species, including hornbills and kingfishers. After lunch, embark on an afternoon safari to further discover the park's natural beauty. The diverse ecosystems of Nameri offer a unique opportunity to observe both terrestrial and aquatic wildlife in their natural surroundings. Return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Nameri - Majuli (200km)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a drive to Majuli, the world's largest river island. The journey takes you to Nimathi-Ghat, where you will board a local ferry to cross the mighty Brahmaputra River. The ferry ride offers spectacular views of the river and its surroundings, as well as a chance to interact with local passengers. After reaching Kamalabari Ghat on Majuli Island, transfer to your lodge and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, explore a local village of the Mishing tribe, one of the indigenous communities of Assam. Learn about their unique culture, traditional weaving techniques, and sustainable way of life. You may have the opportunity to share tea or local rice beer with the villagers, gaining insight into their daily lives and customs. Return to the lodge for a relaxing evening. DAY 7: Majuli - Jorhat (40km)/ Flight

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Kamalabari Ghat. Board a ferry to Jorhat, the gateway to the upper Assam region and a major center for tea production. The ferry ride offers a final glimpse of the scenic Brahmaputra River and the surrounding landscapes. Upon arrival in Jorhat, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to your onward destination, concluding your Tiger Reserve & River Island Tour.
