Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo

On arrival at Colombo airport, meet your tour guide displaying a signboard with your name for assistance and transfer to your hotel. Later, commence a city tour of Colombo. Drive through Fort and Pettah, the commercial areas, and Cinnamon Gardens, known for its lush tree-lined streets. Visit the Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith's shops, and the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal, featuring colonial architecture. Explore the Independence Hall and the B.M.I.C.H, and see the replica of Avukana Buddha. Visit Independence Square and Gangarama Temple, notable for its unique architectural design and serene ambiance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Colombo - Anuradhapura (206kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before driving to Anuradhapura. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Visit the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the Ruwanweliseya dagoba, renowned for its grandeur and the elephant walls. See the Thuparama dagoba, one of the earliest dagobas in Sri Lanka, and the Samadhi Buddha statue, a masterful Buddhist sculpture. Explore the ruins of ancient royal palaces, including the Brazen Palace, and the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, over 2200 years old. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Aukana - Habarana (125kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before driving towards Habarana, stopping at Mihintale and Aukana. Visit Mihintale, the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, and ascend the grand stairway of 1840 steps for panoramic views. Continue to Aukana to see the Aukana Buddha statue, a magnificent 5th-century statue known for its serene beauty. Proceed to Habarana and check in at the hotel. Rest and relax for the remainder of the day. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Habarana - Sigiriya (21kms) & Polonnaruwa (65kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before heading to Sigiriya. Climb the Lion Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its stunning frescoes and ancient gardens. Visit the famous frescoes of the “Heavenly Maidens” and the 10-foot high Mirror Wall. Drive to Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Vatadage, Thuparama Image House, and the Gal Vihara, featuring impressive Buddha statues carved from a single granite wall. Return to Habarana for overnight.

Day 5: Habarana - Dambulla - Kandy (95kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before departing for Dambulla. Visit the Golden Rock Cave Temple, renowned for its extensive collection of Buddha statues and vibrant frescoes. En route to Kandy, stop at a Spice Garden in Matale to learn about Sri Lankan spices and traditional uses. On arrival in Kandy, check in at the hotel. Explore the hill country capital, visiting the Temple of the Tooth, which houses a sacred relic of the Buddha. Enjoy the Kandyan Cultural Show featuring traditional dancers and drummers, including a dramatic fire-walking display. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Kandy - Pinnawela - Nuwara Eliya (140kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before traveling to Pinnawela. Visit the Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe the feeding and bathing of baby elephants. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, known for its picturesque landscapes. En route, visit a tea plantation and factory to see tea processing. In Nuwara Eliya, tour the town, market place, Golf Course, Hill Club, and Lake Gregory. Admire Sri Lanka's highest mountain, Pidurutalagala. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park (170kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before driving to Yala. Stop at Rawana Waterfalls, a scenic spot with mythological significance. Upon arrival in Yala, check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a jeep safari in Yala National Park, famous for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and various bird species. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Yala - Bentota (221kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before traveling to Bentota, a popular beach resort. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beautiful, sandy beaches of Bentota. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Bentota - Colombo airport (100kms)

Breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Colombo airport for your flight to the onward destination.
