Day 2: Thimphu - Punakha (76kms)

After breakfast, drive to Punakha, crossing Dochula Pass at 3100 meters. On a clear day, enjoy breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayan ranges, including the majestic Mt. Gangar Punsum. Hike to Khamsum Yuley Namgyal Chorten, a stunning temple with a 45-minute uphill walk through lush rice fields and a 30-minute downhill return, offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape. Visit Punakha Dzong, an imposing fortress located at the confluence of the Pho-Chu (male) and Mochu (female) rivers, known for its beautiful architecture and vibrant history.
