Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Guwahati

Upon arrival, receive assistance at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in, ensuring a smooth start to your journey. In the evening, enjoy a serene sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River, where the sight of the golden hues reflecting on the water creates a truly mesmerizing experience. Day 2: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park (200kms)

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel, preparing for an exciting day ahead. Visit a revered Shakti Peetha, the Kamakhya Temple, perched atop Nilachal Hill, offering spiritual significance and stunning views. Explore the Navagraha Temple, situated on Chitrasal Hill, where you’ll learn about its astrological importance as a temple dedicated to the nine celestial bodies. Take a short ferry ride to Umananda Island, the smallest inhabited river island in the world, where you’ll visit the peaceful Umananda Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Day 3: Kaziranga NP

Day 4: Kaziranga - Majuli (150kms)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before starting your journey to Majuli. Embark on a scenic drive to Majuli, the world’s largest river island, known for its vibrant culture and lush natural beauty. At Nimathi-Ghat, board a local ferry that will take you across the mighty Brahmaputra River, providing an authentic travel experience alongside local passengers. Upon reaching Kamalabari Ghat, transfer to your lodge and check in for a comfortable stay. Day 5: Majuli-Benreu (260kms)

From there, drive to Benreu village, a remote Zeliang Naga village nestled in the hills, where you’ll experience a true adventure as you navigate the rough and narrow roads. Along the way, make a brief stop at Peleke village, offering a glimpse into rural life in the region. Upon arrival in Benreu, enjoy a leisurely evening stroll through the village, followed by a cozy bonfire with your host family, where you’ll share stories and experience Naga hospitality. End your day with lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 6: Benreu

Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel, preparing for a day filled with cultural experiences. Meet local hunters who will share their thrilling stories of hunting expeditions, giving you insight into the traditional practices that are an integral part of their culture. Visit a traditional morung, an informal institute where young men are taught the history, traditions, and culture of their tribe, providing a deeper understanding of their heritage. Later, embark on a hike to Mt. Pauna, a trek that takes about 2-3 hours each way and offers a mix of moderate and challenging sections, with rewarding views from the summit. After returning to the village, participate in cooking dinner with your host, using local ingredients and traditional methods. Enjoy lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 7: Benreu - Poilwa - Dzuleke

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before beginning your journey. Take a leisurely walk through Benreu village, soaking in the sights and sounds of daily life. Drive to Poilwa village, a scenic 2-hour journey covering 25 kilometers, where you’ll witness the picturesque setting and traditional Naga architecture. From Poilwa, embark on a 2-hour hike through dense jungle, leading you to the serene Dzuleke village. Upon arrival, be warmly welcomed by your host and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea. Spend the evening strolling around the village, learning about local customs and traditions. Conclude the day with lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 8: Dzuleke - Khonoma

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, ensuring you are well-prepared for the day ahead. Continue your journey with a walk and drive to Khonoma village, renowned as India’s first green village and a model of sustainable living. Explore Khonoma, a village with a rich history of valour and significance as a defensive stronghold for neighboring villages.
