Overview

Dehradun is the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills. Dehradun is home to Robbers Cave, a river cave formed in the Himalayas locally known as Gucchu Pani. This river cave is believed to be an abode of Lord Shiva and is very close to Sahasradhara. Gurdwara Nanaksar Sikh temple topped with ornate white and golden domes. Mindrolling Monastery a Tibetan Buddhist center established in Clement Town by Khochhen Rinpoche in 1965. Being an architectural masterpiece with several sections, the monastery is a visual wonder. Ghanta Ghar, Clock Tower and Paltan Bazaar are the busy shopping areas that provide a glimpse of rustic life.
