Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Aurangabad

On arrival at Aurangabad airport, you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel. Begin with a visit to the Aurangabad Caves, a group of 12 Buddhist caves from the 6th and 7th centuries, renowned for their intricate carvings and religious sculptures. Explore the Bibi Ka Maqbara, often called the "Taj of the Deccan," a stunning mausoleum built in memory of Aurangzeb's first wife, with its impressive architecture and landscaped gardens. Visit the nearby Archaeological Museum of Aurangabad, which houses artifacts from the Ajanta and Ellora caves, along with other historical relics. Stroll through the vibrant local markets of Aurangabad for an authentic shopping experience. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Aurangabad - Ajanja - Aurangabad (210kms round) (B)

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to the Ajanta Caves, closed on Mondays. These 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves, discovered in 1819, are famous for their exquisite paintings and sculptures. Explore the Chaityas (prayer halls) and Viharas (monastic cells), each adorned with vibrant frescoes depicting the life of Buddha and various Jataka tales. Day 3: Aurangabad - Mumbai (B)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out to explore the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring 34 caves carved from 600 to 1000 AD. Visit the Kailasa Temple, a remarkable monolithic structure dedicated to Lord Shiva, showcasing elaborate rock-cut architecture and sculptures.
