Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Chennai

On arrival at Chennai airport assistance & transfer to hotel. Later visit Fort St. George, St Mary's Church inside the fortress, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Vadapalani Murugan Temple, Government Museum, Dakshinachitra Museum, Santhome Cathedral & Marina Beach. O/n at hotel.

Day 2: Chennai - Vellore (140kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Vellore via visiting Kanchipuram Kailasanathar temple, Ekambareswarar temple, Varadharaja temple, Vaikundhaperumal temple & Kamakshiamman temple. Continue drive to Vellore and check in at hotel. Later visit Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple gilded with 1500kg of pure gold. Also visit Vellore Fort & Jalakandeswarar Temple inside the fort. O/n at hotel.

Day 3: Vellore - Trichy (280kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Trichy via Tiruvannamalai a Hindu pilgrimage town at the foot of sacred Arunachala Hill. Visit ancient Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar Temple & Unnamalai Amman. Continue drive to Trichy check in at hotel. Evening visit Ranganathaswamy Temple to attend Arti. O/n at hotel.

Day 4: Trichy - Madurai (135kms)

Day 5: Madurai - Munnar (160kms)

Day 7: Munnar - Thekkady (110kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Thekkady via Ramakkalmedu the windiest places in Asia. Evening watch Martial Arts & Kathakali Dance show. O/n at hotel.

Day 8: Thekkady - Kumarakom (140km) (B)

Breakfast at hotel. Explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on boat safari followed by spice plantation tour. Drive to Kumarakom check in. O/n at hotel.

Day 9: Kumarakom - Alleppey

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Alleppey boat jetty to board houseboat & sail through the tropical countryside enchanting backwaters. Lunch, dinner and O/n on board in houseboat.

Day 10: Alleppey - Cochin (60kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Cochin check in at hotel. Visit Fort Cochin, St. Frances Church, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace & Chinese fishing nets. Evening watch Kathakali Dance. O/n at hotel.

Day 11: Cochin - Kovalam (200kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Attukal Temple, Napier Museum, Kuthira Malika & Sri Chitra Art Gallery. Drive through popular beaches. O/n at hotel.

Day 13: Kovalam - Kanyakumari (85kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Kanyakumari check in at hotel. Later visit Kanyakumari Temple, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vattakottai Fort. O/n at hotel.

Day 14: Kanyakumari - Rameshwaram (325kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Rameshwaram, check in at hotel. Later visit Ramanathaswamy Temple one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples with world longest corridor and immaculate carvings on pillars. Also visit to Adams Bridge the chain of reefs, sandbanks and islets that almost connects Sri Lanka with India. O/n at hotel.

Day 15: Rameshwaram - Chettinad (150kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Thanjavur via Chettinad well known for its 19th-century mansions, whose wide courtyards and spacious rooms are embellished with marble and teak. They were built by men who once traded in everything from salt to gems. O/n at hotel.

Day 16: Chettinad - Thanjavur (100kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Thanjavur check in at hotel. Later visit Brihadeshwara Temple & Fort built by great Chola king in the 10th century. Thanjavur Palace & Museum a vast building of masonry built by the Nayakas around 1550 and partly by the Maratha. O/n at hotel.

Day 17: Thanjavur - Pondicherry (180kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Pondicherry. Enroute visit Darasuram Airavateshwarar temple a storehouse of art and architecture. Gangaikonda Cholapuram, temple complex which includes Nandi Mandapa, Alankar Mandapa, Maha Mandapa, Mukha Mandapa and Ardha Mandapa. Continue drive and visit Chidambaram Nataraja Temple dedicated to the dancing posture of Lord Shiva. Arrive Pondicherry check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 18: Pondicherry - Chennai (160kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Aurovil & Pondicherry Museum. Drive pass or walk through stunning French Quarters, charming mustard streets and colonial villas which include French consulate, Raj Nivas, Government Square, Churches & French schools. Later drive to Chennai enroute stop at Mahabalipuram to visit Monolithic Temples, Five Rathas, Krishna Butterball, Cave Temples, Shore Temple & The Arjuna Penance. Day 19: Chennai - Departure
