Overview

The western coast of India is located between Kerala and Gujarat and extends from the Arabian Sea to the Western Ghats. Its total length is 1400 km, width ranges from 10 km to 80 km, and the elevation ranges from 150 m to 300 m above sea level. It is characterized by sandy beaches, mud-flats, sand-dunes, alluvial tracts, estuaries, lagoons, residual hills and more. It lacks deltas as the short and swift rivers are not able to make deltas in this coast.

Itinerary

Day 1: Mumbai

On arrival at Mumbai airport assistance & transfer to hotel (hotel check in/ out time 12pm). Rest time free for personal activities. O/n at hotel.

Day 2: Mumbai

Breakfast at hotel. Morning excursion to Elephant caves (Monday closed). Later visit CST, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan & Dhobhi Ghat. O/n at hotel.

Day 3: Mumbai - Alibaug (100kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Alibaug check in at hotel. Rest time free to relax. O/n at hotel.

Day 4: Alibaug

Breakfast at hotel. Optional excursion to Kankeshwar Temple a fine example of Hoysala style of architecture. One has to climb 750 steps to reach the temple. Rest time free to relax & hopp on the beaches. O/n at hotel.

Day 5: Alibaug - Ratnagiri (300kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Ratnagiri via visiting Murud-Janjira Fort located on a cliff overlooking the sea. On arrival check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 6: Ratnagiri - Goa (295kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Thibaw Palace a three-storeyed brick & teakwood palace. Drive to Goa enroute visit Sindhudurg Fort. Arrive Goa check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 7: Goa

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Old Goa Churches, Aguada Fort, Portuguese lighthouse, Mangueshi & Shanta Durga Temple & Margao town. Drive Pass charming beaches of Calangute, Dona Paula, Miramar & Baga. O/n at hotel.

Day 8: Goa

Breakfast at hotel. Day free to relax & explore the site of your interest with your driver. O/n at hotel.

Day 9: Goa - Gokarna (235kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Gokarna enroute visit INS Chapal (K94) Warship Museum & Sadashivgad Fort in Karwar. Arrive Gokarna check in at hotel. Visit Mahabaleshwar temple. O/n at hotel.

Day 10: Gokarna - Mangalore (235kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Mangalore enroute visit Sri Krishna Temple, Anantheshwara Temple & Heritage Museum in Udupi. On arrival check in at hotel. Visit St. Aloysius Chapel. O/n at hotel.

Day 11: Mangalore - Kozhikode (250kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Kozhikode via visiting Bekal Fort, Kannur St. Angelo Fort & Thalassery Thalassery Fort. On arrival check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 12: Kozhikode - Cochin (190kms)

Day 13: Cochin

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Fort Cochin St. Frances Church, town of Vasco da Gama, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Dutchs Palace & Chinese fishing nets. Evening Kathakali Dance show. O/n at hotel.

Day 14: Cochin - Alleppey (60kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Alleppey boat jetty to board houseboat & sail through the tropical countryside enchanting backwaters. Lunch, dinner and o/n on board in houseboat.
