Overview

Kolkata to Simlipal, Bhitarkanika & Puri Explore Nature & Culture tour will begin with pick up from Kolkata airport. Explore the colonial city dotted with many historical monuments of Raj Era. Then proceed to Similipal National Park endowed with high peaks and rocky cliffs harboring Tiger, Leopard, Sloth bear, Elephant, Gaur and other important major faunal species. Next head to Bhitarakanika and enjoy boat safari in Mangroves Forest, a nestling ground for estuarine crocodile and the Olive Ridley turtles. Continue to Puri via visiting Ratnagiri, Udaigiri & Lalitgiri excavated Buddhist Sites. From Puri visit Chilaka Lake & Konark Sun Temple. Tour will end with visit to few Hindu collection of grand temples in Bhubaneswar.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kolkata

On arrival at Kolkata Airport assistance & transfer to hotel (standard hotel check in time 12pm). Rest time for personal activities. O/n at hotel.

Day 2: Kolkata

Breakfast at hotel. Full day city tour of Kolkata visiting Fort William, Victoria Memorial, Netaji Bhawan, Howrah Bridge, Dakshineswar Kali Temple & other landmark monuments of the city. O/n at hotel.

Day 3: Kolkata - Similipal Tiger Reserve (300kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Similipal Tiger Reserve, check in at hotel. Rest time free to relax. Lunch, dinner and o/n at hotel.

Day 4: Similipal Tiger Reserve

Breakfast at hotel. Jeep safari in Similipal Tiger Reserve. It harbours Tiger, Leopard, Sloth bear, Elephant, Gaur and other important major faunal species. Similipal is the only home for the unique melanistic tiger in the world. Lunch, dinner and o/n at hotel.

Day 5: Similipal NP - Bhitarakanika NP (200kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Bhitarakanika check in at Jungle Cottage/ Tent. Rest time for personal activities. Lunch, dinner and o/n at hotel.

Day 6: Bhitarakanika NP - Puri (225kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Explore Bhitarkanika the breeding ground for Olive Ridley turtles. Boat safari in Mangrove forest, enjoy the serpentine creeks, watch out for birds, particularly different varieties of Kingfisher. Keep looking for estuarine crocodiles basking in the sun. Also visit Bagagahan Bird Sanctuary, climb to watch tower, look for Pelican & different varieties of Storks. Later drive to Puri check in hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 7: Puri

Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to visit Chilika Lake the second largest brackish water lagoon in the world after the New Caledonian barrier reef. A pleasant boat ride amidst the colourful migratory birds and the quaint water. Drive back to Puri & visit The Konark Sun Temple, a 13th-century Temple in the form of the chariot heavily decorated with symbolic stone carvings and led by a team of six horses. Rest time free to relax on the beach. O/n at hotel.

Day 8: Puri - Bhubaneshwar (65kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Bhubaneshwar via visiting Khandgiri, Udayagiri Jain caves and Dhauli Rock Edicts. In Bhubaneshwar visit few famous temples Parasurameshwar, Mukteshwar, Rajarani & Lingaraj temple (non-Hindus are not allowed to enter inside the main temple sanctum). Later drop off to Bhubaneshwar airport to board evening flight for onward destination.
