Goa to UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hampi & Badami Extension Tour will begin with pick up from your hotel in Goa. Drive to Hampi with stop over to visit a few ruined temples in Gadag & Lakkundi. Explore the temples of Hampi, its monolithic sculptures and monuments the example of excellent workmanship belonging to the erstwhile medieval Hindu kingdom of Vijaynagar. Then drive to Badami the capital of Chalukyas between 540 AD and 757 AD known for its cave temples that are cut out of sandstone rocks. Aihole & Pattadakal are the historic site of ancient and medieval era Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments from the sixth century through the twelfth century CE. The tour will end with drop off at your hotel or airport in Goa.

Itinerary

Day 1: Goa - Gadag - Lakkundi - Hampi (340kms)

Pick up from your hotel in Goa and drive to Hampi. Enroute visit Gadag Trikuteshwara temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has three lingas mounted on the same stone. There is a shrine dedicated to Saraswathi in this temple and it has carved columns. Further drive to Lakkundi full of ruined temples like Mallikarjuna, Virabhadra, Manikeshwara, Nanneshwara, Lakshminarayana, Someshwara, Nilakanteshwara and many more. Continue drive to Hampi check in at hotel.

Day 2: Hampi

Breakfast at hotel. City tour of Hampi an UNESCO world Heritage sites dotted with numerous ruined temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire on the bank of the River Tungabhadra. Visit Hazara Rama Temple, Kings Balance, Mahanavami Dibba, Royal enclosures, Statue of Ugra Narasimha Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Vithala And Lotus Mahal, Vithala Temple Complex and ASI Museum. O/n at hotel.

Day 3: Hampi - Badami (140kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Badami check in at hotel.
Excursion to visit Aihole a historical site & home to over 125 beautiful Chalukyan temples and monuments from 6th to 12th century. Few important monuments in Aihole include the Durga Temple, Lad Khan Temple, Ravanaphadi Cave Temples, Huchimalli Temple, Meganagudi group, Gowda Temple and the Huchappayyagudi Temple amongst numerous others. And Pattadakal a treasure trove of Hindu and Jain temples complex built-in 7th and 8th century CE. The various temples that one must visit are Virupaksha Temple, Jain temple, Papanatha temple, Galaganath temple, and Sangameshwara temple. Return to Badami & visit cave temples, Badami Fort and Agastya Lake. O/n at hotel.

Day 4: Badami - Goa (250kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Goa and drop off to your hotel or airport in Goa.
