Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi - Agra - Bharatpur (275kms)

Pick up from your Delhi city hotel and drive to Agra. Visit Taj Mahal an ivory-white marble mausoleum built in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal & himself. Agra Fort the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638. And Itmad-ud-Daula Tomb commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. Next drive to visit Fatehpur Sikri the old deserted town of the Mughal kingdom, built in red sandstone. Continue drive to Bhratpur (Keoladeo National Park) and check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 2: Bharatpur - Delhi (210kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Early morning visit Bharatpur National Park by cycle-rickshaws/ electric vans. Keoladeo is famous as one of Asias finest birding areas, with over 380 resident and migrant species, including the Common, Demoiselle and the rare Siberian Cranes. It is also an excellent place to watch mammals like Golden Jackal, Striped Hyaena, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, Nilgai, Sambar, Blackbuck and wild Boar. During the cool winter months it is also possible to see large Indian Pythons sunning themselves.
After safari in the park visit Bharatpur Palace which is an excellent blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. Lohagarh Fort which remained invincible despite several attacks by the British. Deeg Palace the summer resort of the rulers of Bharatpur.
After sightseeing drive back to Delhi and drop off to your hotel/ airport.
