Day 1: Bangalore - Bandipur National Park (235kms)
Pick up from your Bangalore hotel and drive to Bandipur National Park via Mysore. Visit Mysore Palace built in the 1912 for the 24th Ruler of the Wodeyar Dynasty. Chamundi Hills, site of the Chamundeswari Temple, Nandi Bull as well as the vast City Palace. St. Philomena's Church the second tallest church of Asia built in Neo-Gothic style of architecture. Continue drive to Bandipur National Park check in at hotel. Dinner and O/n at resort.
Day 2: Bandipur National Park
Breakfast at hotel. Morning and afternoon safari in Bandipur National Park. The wide range of habitats help support a diverse range of organisms. The park is flanked by the Kabini river in the north and the Moyar river in the south. The Nugu river runs through the park. Top animals to spot here are Bengal Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Gaurs, Dholes (Indian Wild Dog), Sloth Bears, Langur, four-horned antelopes, chital deer (Spotted), Sambar deer, Muntjac (Barking Deer), Mouse Deer, Wild Boar & Indian giant squirrels. Top birds to spot are Peafowl, Grey Junglefowl, Honey buzzards, Red-headed vultures, Indian vultures, Flowerpeckers, Hoopoes, Indian rollers, Brown fish owls, Crested serpent eagles & Changeable hawk-eagles. Reptiles include Spectacled Cobra, Indian rock python, viper, rat snake, muggers, monitor lizards, Indian chameleon, Indian pond terrapin, agamids and flying lizards. Lunch, dinner and O/n at resort.
Day 3: Bandipur National Park - Bangalore (235kms)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Bangalore enroute visit Somanthpur (Chennakeshava Temple) located near the Shivanasamudra Waterfalls. The temple is exquisitely carved in star shape and consists of triple towers. Intricate designs of Hoysala Architecture can be observed here. The temple is a UNESCO world heritage site and is a must visit for history seekers as well as nature lovers. The temple is placed in an isolated location and serves as a peaceful retreat. Continue drive to Bangalore and drop off to your hotel or airport.
