Anshi National Park
Pick up from your Goa hotel for full day excursion visit to Anshi National Park (Kali Tiger Reserve, Dandeli) (130kms/ 3hrs approx one way).
If option selected first stop to indulge in white water rafting (up to grade 3 level) at the gushing Kali river. Experience the thrills of white water rafting on some unpredictable stretches of the Kali River in Dandeli – probably the best place after the options available in the Ganges. The Dandeli River rafting trail stretches to a distance of about 12 kilometres. The rapids and meanders of the Kali River have been classified into Grade II and III, which are ideal for professionals as well as beginners in this exhilarating water sport. All the participants are mostly taken to the starting points via jungle jeep and there they will be guided through the rest of the process involved. If you are new to this sport you will be going on a route that is filled with Grade II rapids and water passes. Experts and experienced rafters head to the Kali River Point of Grade III rapids. This course is much more difficult and challenging. The 12 km rafting excursion lasts 3 to 4 hours end to end, including transportation from the starting point.
Next head to enjoy gypsy safari in the National Park, located amid the majestic Western Ghats, spread over an area of 340 sq km. The park is home to hundreds of species of wild animals, endemic birds, herbs, shrubs, and reptiles, overlooking the Kali river which flows through it. The park offers some of the best views and sceneries you would ever see at all times of the year. The remarkable topography of the park includes beautiful deep valleys, dense forests and narrow hills slopes. The park hosts the dense deciduous forests and evergreen rain forests. The park is widely known for black panthers, tigers, and elephants. Other large animals that can be spotted here are sloth bear, bonnet macaque, slender grey loris, barking deer, Indian wild boar, mouse deer, Indian bison, sambar deer, and more. Small animals include leopard cat, wild dog, jungle cat, jackal, porcupine, flying squirrel, Indian giant squirrel, Malabar civet, small Indian civet, Indian grey mongoose, and pangolin.
After safari drive back to Goa and drop off to your hotel.
